The 2012 Aston Martin DBS Volante comes into two trims: Base and the Carbon Edition. The base model is equipped with climate control A/C, auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated front seats, power seats, the hand-woven upholstered leather seats, power exterior mirror control, a navigation system, satellite radio, hands-fee calling, Bluetooth, a USB/iPod connection with an auxiliary audio jack input. Its exterior is equipped with 20-inch alloy rims with high-performance 8.5"front wheels and 11" rear wheels.

Other than exuding the above perks, the 2012 DBS Volante Carbon Edition is appointed with a choice of Ceramic Grey or Flame Orange or even the basic Carbon Black meticulously detailed, lightweight exterior bits like the carbon fiber grille insert, mirror covers, accented rear-lamps, brake calipers in black (or optional orange, yellow, grey and red), taillight smoked lenses, and the unique 10-spoke black-glossed diamond-turned rims. The satin lacquer exterior is produced from a 7-layer paint process which is then hand polished for 25 hours to result in a silk-like texture. The interior of the 2012 DBS Volante Carbon Edition is hand-manicured, which takes 70 hours to complete.

The result is a sophisticated interior in colors of Obsidian Black or Maranello orange leather and a Carbon fiber hand-laid dashboard cover. The beautifully laser-etched metal covered carbon fiber sill and the magnesium alloy carbon fiber-tipped shifter are complementary to the upgrade. Both trims still house the 6.0-L V12 engine with a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional 6-speed "Touchtonic" automatic. Standard audio for both trims is still blaring with a Bang & Olufsen's BeoSound DBS audio system, which consists of 13 speakers and its unique Digital Signal Processing system. The DSP interface is capable of adjusting the sound stage when the roof is either retracted or covering to leverage the wind noise and the acoustics.

Safety features for the 2012 DBS Volante include the driver, passenger and front side airbags, side guard door beams, safety roll bar and the trunk anti-trap device. Warranty offered is only the basic unlimited miles / 36 months. Sadly, safety crash tests are not yet available since the 2012 edition is yet to come out. Even for the 2011 edition, crash safety tests have not been performed.
