The 2012 Audi R8 Spyder can be outfitted with either of two engines, a 4.2 liter V8 or a 5.2 liter V10. Both models include huge 14" brakes, magnetic ride, xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a leather wrapped steering wheel. The 5.2 liter model has some extra features, like navigation, a Bang & Olufsen stereo system, and LED headlights.

The 2012 Audi R8 Spyder comes with a variety of paint and leather colors to select from. Paint colors include the gray scale along with blue, red, and a new addition, Jet Blue Metallic. The interior leather/alcantara comes in an impressive array of colors, including red and beige. Those wanting a more subtle touch can opt for black leather with contrasting color stitching in red, brown, beige, gray or silver. The canvas top can be had in one of three colors: black, brown, and red.

Safety equipment includes several cabin airbags and electronic stability control. However, the 2012 Audi R8 Spyder is a super car that had its roof cut off. In order to save weight and space, it necessarily lacks safety equipment.
