The new BMW 6 Series Convertible is reminiscent of the luxurious 6 Series Coupe, but this model has been improved in both design and performance aspects. The 640i is equipped with a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine that offers 315 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. You are even granted fantastic gas mileage at 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Those that prefer a little more power will opt for either the 650i or the 650i xDrive that both boast a 4.4-liter V-8 engine. This powerful upgrade delivers an impressive 400 horsepower and 450 pound feet of torque. You will compromise fuel economy though as it dips all the way down to 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.

The new BMW 6 Series Convertible has an eight speed automatic transmission, which is designed to offer drivers flexibility, speed, sportiness, efficiency and, of course, ease of use.

When BMW designed this vehicle, it did so with the thinking that this car should be weatherproof, and it has certainly delivered in this category. Although the car is large, it is able to provide enough power and responsive enough handling to traverse through the most adverse weather conditions.

The safety measures put into this 6 Series Convertible will offer peace-of-mind to just about any driver. Included in the vehicles extensive list of safety features are a full range of airbags, three-point automatic belts in all seats, child anchor seat mounts in the rear and a roll over protection system, which causes roll bars to pop up. The roll-over protection system is made up of two bars which are positioned right behind the head restrains. It reduces the injuries to the driver by springing up high strength metal bars when sensors detect that the car has been involved in rolled over. This car also has a belt force limiter and front belt tensioners. When tested, it was found to come to a complete stop from 60 mph in only 109 feed, which is impressive for a convertible.

The BMW 6 Series Convertible has an extremely luxurious feel to it, with a host of functionality additives, such as an automatic two-zone climate control system, multi-function steering wheel, a high fidelity audio system, memory settings in the front seats and a rain sensor, which can automatically change the brightness of the cars lights as well as turn on the wipers.
