2012 Buick Enclave SUV Trims & Features

There are four trim levels available for the 2012 Buick Enclave SUV. They are the Base, Convenience Group, Leather Group, and Premium Group. You notice that they use the word "group" instead of "package", probably in an effort to sound more demure. Regardless of the terminology, all trim levels come paired with a 3.6L V6 engine that churns out 288 horsepower and a handy 270 pound feet of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed variety and the luxury SUV can tow up to 4,500 pounds. Buyers can get front wheel drive or all-wheel drive depending on their preference. Drivers can expect fuel economy of 17mpg city and 24mpg highway (19mpg combined) for the front wheel drive Enclave or 16/22/18 for the all-wheel option. Braking is slightly below average at 139 feet from 60mph but stability control and front, front side, and side curtain airbags are all standard. Crash tests indicated a five-star rating for overall performance which should leave drivers feeling pretty secure.

The 2012 Buick Enclave can handle seven passengers with captain's seating in the second row and bench seating in the third row. You can swap out those captain's chairs for another bench seat in order to bump up the maximum passenger number to eight. Buick does not charge you for this upgrade which is a really nice touch. The base Enclave comes with cloth seats, tilt/telescoping steering wheel with wood and leather materials, climate control for all three seating rows, heated mirrors, fog lights, xenon headlamps, a motorized liftgate, and 19 inch alloy wheels. Also included as standard features are: cruise control, keyless entry, auxiliary stereo jack, six speaker audio system with satellite music and CD/MP3 capabilities, Bluetooth functionality, Onstar, and power front seats. With the Convenience Group package you also get a rearview camera featuring parking assistance as well as remote start capability. If you want heated front seats in leather and seat memory abilities then you must opt for the Leather Group. If you really want all of the bells and whistles then you should go for the Premium Group package. Buick adds chrome wheels, power folding mirrors, power outlet, premium Bose stereo, heated and vented front seats, and headphone jacks for passengers.
