Combined with a spirited driving experience and an intelligently-engineered design, the Cadillac STS Sedan is a wise automobile choice for nearly anyone. This Sigma-based car is a truest Cadillac in all its aspects. It is not only a luxury premium touring sedan, but also a sports favorite on a topnotch level. It possesses a multitude of high-tech features, such as a direct injection fuel system responsible for high-level power driving and fuel economy. In fact fuel economy is quite good for a larger sedan, returning 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

Behind the lively driving performance is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 302 horsepower and 272 pound-feet of torque. Unfortunately, one of its downfalls is that there is no V8 option available, which most people prefer. Still, as a V6, it manages to accelerate zero to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. The 2011 Cadillac STS is equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission and comes standard as a rear-wheel drive, however, all-wheel drive is available on Luxury and Luxury Sport trims.

The exterior of the STS is a lacking in style for some, as many find it a bit aged. However, it makes up for it in the cabin as rich wood is complemented by aluminum accents. The controls are placed thoughtful and straightforward to use, so you don't have to take your eyes off the road to find your way around them. Seating is comfortable for all five passengers with plenty of head, leg and shoulder room, but it is certainly lacking in cargo space as the trunk is only 13.9 cubic feet. This is considerably smaller than much of its competition.

The 2011 Cadillac STS did score "Good" on frontal-offset crash tests, but only received an "Acceptable" rating for side-impact; these are the same results that the DTS received as well. Apparently Cadillac has a little work to on its doors and side airbags. Still, it does boast the safety features that you would expect to find on a Cadillac, including post-collision safety system, tire pressure monitoring, emergency interior trunk release, electronic brakeforce distribution, stability and traction control, rear door safety locks, child seat anchors, engine immobilizer and dusk sensing headlamps.

The STS is a charming vehicle with a large helping of class, to say the least. Despite the fact that there is no V8 engine and trunk space is scarce, it remains composed on winding roads, accelerates fabulously and provides equal parts of comfort and luxury.
