The first thing to say about the Citroen Nemo Van is that it has won an award for best light van at the Ivan of the Year awards in 2009. This review is based upon the fact that someone from our team spent two weeks using this van daily, and therefore became a first-hand expert on what is good and what is bad about it. Anyone can take a vehicle for a test drive and report their findings, but we felt that we should really put the Citroen Nemo Van through its paces in order to pass on a review that is as informative as possible.
Right from the beginning we noticed that Citroen have pulled out all the stops when designing the Nemo Van. Firstly, you have the option for fold down the front passenger seat which gives you a ton more length, which comes in handy if you have a particularly large load. Also, it should be noted that this seat does indeed fold flat. When it comes to the driver's seat you will undoubtedly agree that is comfortable. Some work vans make you feel as though you are nestled high atop a stack of phone books to see over the dash. The Citroen Nemo Van offers comfortable seating that you won't mind being stuck in traffic with. Of course, this just adds to the already fantastic driving experience.
The minute you look at this fan, you notice its sassy styling. It is bubbly and fun, offering a ton of personality. The front extra-tall bumper helps protect it, if you are constantly in and out of tight areas to load and unload cargo. Not to mention, those super high headlamps won't get smashed so easily. The downfall of the styling though is the vast number of blind spots that drivers are faced with. With only two side windows in the front, it makes merging and switching lanes a little tricky.
The Citroen Nemo Van is fun to drive. It handles well, offers massive load space and returns low fuel emissions. You will also find features on it that you won't find on many other work vans, such as heated and folding mirrors, front fog lights, USB connectivity for iPods, Bluetooth for improved communications and reverse parking sensors for safety. Although ABS brakes do come standard, the Citroen Nemo Van does lack a passenger side airbag and stability control.
