Honda Coupe Reviews

Japanese automaker Honda is usually known for its motorcycles and sedan models, but its coupe models have proven popular as well. One such popular coupe is the Honda Civic coupe, which has been offered along with the standard sedan Civic since it first appeared in the early-1970s. For the 2012 model year, the Civic coupe continues in this tradition. It is also joined by another coupe model, the Honda Accord, which is also better-known for its sedan variant.

The 2012 Honda Civic Coupe has a starting price of $15,605 and gets up to 28 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. It's available in several trims (five to be precise), including the base level DX trim, the mid-level LX and EX trims, and premium EX-L and Si trims. The range of starting MSRPs for all of these trims extends to $22,205 for the Si coupe. The Civic was completely redesigned for the 2012 year. Highlights of its new look include better fuel economy, a more powerful Si model, and modest styling updates. Stability control is now standard, and more interior room is now available. Several added technology features, includes iPod connectivity, an economy mode, and a five-inch information display take the Civic into the new decade. The Civic coupe competes with the Chevrolet Cruze, the Hyundai Elantra, and the Ford Focus in its compact car category.

Standard features for the 2012 Civic Coupe include a fold-down rear seat piece, a rear window defroster, and power windows. The LX trim gets you an added four-speaker audio system, keyless entry, cruise control, USB input. A Civic Natural Gas is also available for drivers interested in gaining more fuel efficiency and producing a smaller carbon footprint. It also comes with updated, more luxurious features, but it's only available as a sedan model. The Si Civic coupe comes in only one sporty trim level.

The Honda Accord has also been around for quite some time (three decades to be precise) and has always been known for offering a great daily driving experience. The Accord is known for being roomy, comfortable, easy to drive, and reliable. The 2012 midsize Honda Accord Coupe has a starting MSRP of $22,980 and has fuel economy ratings of 23 mpg in the city and an impressive 32 mpg on the highway. It comes in four trims this year: the based LX-s trim, the mid-level EX trim, and the more luxurious EX-L and EX-L V-6 trims, which have starting prices of $27,305 and $29,930. The Accord is much the same this year as it was in 2011, with the exception of a new standard USB audio interface. The 2012 Accord Coupe competes with such vehicles as the Volkswagen Passat, the Hyundai Sonata, the Kia Optima, and the Toyota Camry (which was redesigned for the 2012 model year). Overall, the Accord is a great choice for families that want extra space and good fuel economy. The Accord's safety features have also been proven impressive in government crash tests.
