Scion was designed for the sole purpose of appealing to a younger generation. Founded by Toyota Motor Corporation, this brand of vehicles is predominately known by their hatchback models. However, there has been one Scion coupe that was released for the market and it is still in production today. The car is the Scion tC and unlike most coupes, it is also a hatchback version. Five door and extra cargo space keep this Scion in line with the same idea that has been present on all of their models. However, unlike many of their cars, this one is considered a coupe by both the company and enthusiasts.
The Scion coupe may fall into the category, but it doesn't truly live up to the class. The 2.5 liter inline four engine doesn't offer the same power that many of today's coupes have available. It does come with a manual transmission of six speeds as standard, but there is the option of a automatic trasmission of six speeds available. Not the slowest manufactured, the tC will get from 0 to 60 in 7.3 seconds. This is still a bit slow for a coupe of any name and design.
The Scion coupe may not drive like the sports car that one might want, but it does look the part. It boasts such benefits as comfortable seating for all parties and a cargo space that is much larger than any of the competition. The rear seats recline and this gives plenty of room for passengers to sit comfortable when in the vehicle. It even features a great stereo system because the designers understood how important music was to the younger generation. A great iPod interface adds to the appeal of the stereo and makes it simple for anyone to operate.
The Scion coupe offers a comfortable drive for anyone looking for a daily commuter. It looks like a sports car and is roomy enough to make it easy to drive and ride in. What it will not do is provide the thrills and rush that can be found on the back roads. Where most sports cars will shine, the tC will fall short each and every time. Everyday drivers will be glad that they chose it because they will see the benefits of the decent power and sporty design. Those looking for adventure will be better off to select a different model.
The features on the Scion coupe are actually quite impressive. It comes standard with 18 inch alloy wheels, a keyless entry system and air conditioning. Cruise control, power accessories and a panoramic sunroof are also featured in this model. Every owner will benefit from the heigh adjustable driver's seat, tilt and telescoping wheel and driver's seat memory. Reclining and folding rear seats and the 8 speaker Pioneer sound system help to add to the comfort and enjoyment that one feels when they own the car. It may not be the fastest coupe on the market, but at the price it is considered to be worth the money.
