The exterior of the Ferrari California Convertible is classic to the make, however there has been a lot of criticism of the rear appearance when the top is retracted. The bulk takes away from the sleek, aerodynamic lines, reducing the sporty look from the hind view. The folding hard top is made of two pieces, and when left in coupe-mode makes for a surprisingly quiet cabin, even at maximum speeds. When retracted, an operation that takes only 14 seconds, a wind blocker protects passengers so conversation is still possible at up to 100 miles per hour. The company made it a priority of retaining some trunk space, even with the top down.

Other exterior features include Bridgestone Potenza 19 inch tires, which offer excellent grip, 245/40 in the front and 285/40 in the rear. Standard brakes on the Ferrari California Convertible are high-tech, with rotors made of carbon ceramic on all four wheels. Drivers will enjoy an eight-way power seat that is also height adjustable, and both front seats are premium leather with sports styling. Remote power door locks and mirrors are standard, and mirrors are heated for safety and convenience.

In terms of entertainment, the Ferrari California Convertible comes standard with a CD capable stereo that includes MP3 and DVD connectivity and features a 30 gigabyte hard drive. A navigation system is also included, as well as Bluetooth wireless connectivity for hands-free cell phone use.
