There are three body styles that a buyer can choose from: the Regular, Extended Cab and Crew Cab. When it comes to trim levels, the list of options is long. One can count on the most basic and no fanfare Work Truck 2WD or if one wants to get the best in comfort and performance when it comes to a Sierra Truck then the Denali should be the one to explore. There are five trim levels including the XFE. The strongest suit of GMC Sierra 1500 Truck is found in its performance, particularly on its powertrain choices. Buyers can start with the basic 4.3L and 195 hp V6 engine and on the extreme end can opt for the 6.2L V8 engine that packs 403 hp. The most common Sierras that are sold in the market come with a 4.8L V8 engine that delivers 295 hp or the 5.3L V8 engine that can pack 315 hp.

The latest addition to the lineup of the GMC Sierra 1500 Truck is the XFE model also known as the XTRA Fuel Economy version. This is considered as a flagship model of Sierra's GMC and comes powered by the 5.3L FlexFuel V8 engine. Power isn't the only strong feature of this model since it also offers improved aerodynamics, thanks to the use of a soft tonneau cover, a lowered suspension, an extended front lower air dam and a revised chassis tuning. Mass is reduced on this pickup due to the use of aluminum control arms and the 17-inch aluminum wheels. There are other top features to watch out for this year including the addition of chrome and the three-bar grille that can be found on the SLT and SLE models. Buyers can also expect the inclusion of the electronic trailer sway control and hill start assist that comes with StabiliTrak and a hard drive navigation radio that is complete with CD/DVD plus USB port.

There were a number of revisions made as well, for example the base Work Truck now comes with cruise control and the Z85 handling and trailering suspension. This suspension is also included on the SL Crew Cab pickups. The spare wheel lock is now added as a standard for all models. The GMC Sierra 1500 Truck is a well-rounded vehicle from GMC and known for its strong and reliable performance and quiet ride on top of its heavy-duty and reliable towing capabilities.
