Part 1: Introduction

It's stylish, sophisticated and 'squared'- these are the buzzwords for the 2011 GMC Terrain SUV. There are a number of things to like and love about the 2012 GMC Terrain SUV but perhaps the bigger motivation for buyers and critics is that this SUV is easy on gas, which helps sustain the popularity of the GMC brand. The 2012 version of the GMC Terrain buyers should expect a number of changes including the use of the E85 FlexFuel capable engine.

The 2012 GMC Terrain SUV comes with the 2.4L four cylinder engine and can deliver 182 horses and 172 pound feet of torque, with a towing capacity at a whopping 1500 pounds. Performance-wise, this vehicle can move from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 9.4 seconds, which is not something to brag about when compared to other vehicles and models in its segment. Based on tests, the 2012 GMC Terrain SUV drives an impressive 22 miles per gallon in city and 32 miles per gallon on highways for a combined rating of 26 miles per gallon.

There are a number of noteworthy improvements to the exterior and interior features, but what doesn't change is the quality of ride and represents the same smooth sail of the equinox, thanks to the use of acoustic insulation and presence of high tech noise canceling technology embedded in the interior of the vehicle. The cabin of the 2012 GMC Terrain SUV earns high marks as well for comfort and can rival some of its competitors including the Ford Edge. There are two trim levels available; the SLE and SLT, which are further divided into two different models.
