Buyers have a choice of five trims on the Honda CR-V SUV. They can select the LX, EX, EX-L, EX-L with navigation or the EX-L with rear entertainment system. Every trim available comes in both front and all wheel drive. The features available are based on the trim with the LX being the base model.

Standard fare on the LX include steel wheels, headlights that work automatically and a keyless entry system. Inside the cabin buyers will find all power, air conditioning, cruise and a steering wheel that tilts and telescopes. The driver seat can be adjusted for height, the rear seats split 60/40 in there is even a camera in the back. The information display is in color, there are audio controls on the steering wheel, a Bluetooth phone and the ability to stream audio. Along with this owners will receive a sound system that has four speakers, a CD player, a Pandora interface and an iPod interface.

With the EX trim on the Honda CR-V SUV there are even more features. The wheels are upgraded to alloy and increased in size, fog lamps are added, there is an included sunroof, the rear gets privacy glass and a cargo cover is available that retracts. The sound system is upgraded to include six speakers.

There are a few upgrades when going with the EX-L trim of the Honda CR-V SUV. They include rails on the roof, mirrors on the side with heat, climate control that is automatic and dual zone, a power driver seat and front seats that are heated. The cabin is also decked out in leather upholstery and a sound system gets seven speakers and satellite radio. The EX-L with navigation simply adds a navigation system. The EX-L with rear entertainment system adds a DVD entertainment system to the back. Neither of these systems can be ordered together. It is one or the other.

Like most Hondas, the Honda CR-V SUV makes safety a top priority. Every vehicle comes with antilock brakes, stability control, traction control, active head restraints in the front and airbags on the front side and side curtain. There is also a camera that comes standard on all trims to assist with backup. There are no additional safety options available with any trim

There are definitely other SUVs and crossovers on the market that have bigger benefits. Whether it is a stronger engine, faster acceleration or more cargo room; it is easy to understand how the competition stacks up. That said, many people opt for the Honda CR-V SUV for a number of reasons. It is stylish, classy, fun to drive, roomy and of course backed by the Honda name. The decision on whether to go with this crossover SUV will boil down to preference. If power and speed are the ultimate goals, then another vehicle would fare better. If however buyers want fun in the ride while still hauling what is needed with fair gas mileage, then this model will meet those needs.
