The 2012 Kia soul hatchback was created to appeal to a younger generation and with its unique shape and style it has all the advantages of doing just that. It is often compared to the 2012 scion XB, scion XD and the Nissan cube due to its box-like shape. There are 3 variations of the soul hatchback, the Kia base, Kia + and the Kia! with the base being the cheapest of the three options. This base front wheel drive offers all the luxuries and specifications needed to face its toughest competitors including the fact that the base option is cheaper. The youthful theme and vibe of the vehicle is evident in the three trim levels and bright vibrant colors which includes red, bright silver, titanium, clear white, moss, shadow, dune and alien. This new Kia soul hatchback is an upgrade to Kia's second bestselling vehicle in 2011, which now includes an updated interior, and exterior and new rear and front bumpers.

The new and improved model also has a redesigned gear selector and centre stack. Overall the Kia soul hatchback is appealing not only to the younger drivers, but can also serve as a fun option for older persons who enjoy the functionality, shape and colors of this vehicle. The price, safety features general usefulness of this upgraded car makes it a fun and functional purchase. This five passenger seating option is more compact that the older version and has a transformed fog light, rear lights, brake lights and new pull-out door handles and side mirrors. Although it is smaller than its 2011 counterpart the Kia soul is just the right size for a compact vehicle.

The Kia soul hatchback 2012 is similar to the other Kia models in one very important regard, it doesn't compromise on safety. It is equipped with safety features such as traction control, hill assist control, driver and passenger front airbags, side airbags, anti-lock brakes, child safety door locks, side-impact door beams and headrests in the front seats. It is also more efficient that the 2011 version and comes with an eco package for even more fuel efficiency. The price is another factor that contributes to the likeability of the Kia soul hatchback with the base model listed at $13,900, the soul+ at $16,300 and the Kia! being the most expensive of the lot, selling for $19,600.
