The redesigned Lancia Musa has a sleeker front and rear end along with streamlined headlights. The five door hatchback gives you plenty of comfortable seating and storage room in the back while giving you plenty of easy access to the interior. Speaking of the interior, it is now much more luxurious and comes in leather or Alcantara with chrome detailing throughout. It is far roomier than you would expect, and can comfortably fit five adults and still have room left over in the back for golf clubs or groceries. The rear seats all slide to fold and recline independently and in some models the front passenger seat folds to form a table, giving you a wide variety of storage and child carrying capabilities. The Musa has the standard remote door locks, trip computer and CD stereo. Other options include privacy glass and 15 inch alloy wheels. Perhaps the best feature on the Musa is a large panoramic moon roof, a fantastic feature in the summer.

The Musa also has some new technological improvements, including a Bluetooth connection option and a USB port for playing your favorite songs (or something to keep the kids entertained). It also has dual-zone climate control for those who have passengers who are always cold and need the heat turned up, parking and rain sensors, a must have safety feature when around children. It has all the other standard safety features, such as anti-lock brakes, driver's side and passenger side airbags, as well as front side airbags.

But a compact minivan is about more than just storage space for the kids, the pets and the groceries. The Lancia Musa also has some decent performance under the hood and a good range of options. The straight four cylinder engine comes in either a 1.4L or 1.2L, in both a 5 speed manual transmission and a 5 speed automatic (giving you a free hand to drink your morning coffee on the way to work after dropping off the kids). With good handling and responsiveness, the Musa handles well over a variety of surfaces and thanks to the compact size, is easier to maneuver and you can find parking that will elude other drivers, a must if you're running late for soccer practice or dance class. The Musa comes with front wheel drive and rack and pinion steering with electric power assistance, giving you more control and security in your driving. It also has electronic stability, or ESP, further adding to the safe handling, a must when transporting your little ones.

The Lancia Musa, as a small minivan, won't work for every family, especially one with a lot of larger children (referred to as "teenagers") due to the compact design. It also suffers from a distinct lack of power, with the largest engine only putting out just over 100 horsepower at 4000 rpms. It will be fine for city driving or cruising along the highway, but don't expect the power on demand found in minivans sporting 6 cylinder engines. Its top speed is just over 100 miles per hour, and it's zero to sixty time is right around 11 seconds. Then again, no one buys a minivan for speed!

The Lancia Musa is a stylish and beautiful small minivan, exuding the Italian styling that makes their cars desired all over the world. It is full of safety and convenience features and is truly aiming at being the car for the typical small family. While minivans are indelibly associated with suburban living, given its small profile, it is an ideal car for city dwellers with families who hesitate to buy a larger vehicle for fear that parking will become an impossible task.
