The 2012 Mazda MX-5 Miata fits two and comes in one of three options. The base Sport model, the secondary Touring and the top level Grand Touring choices are available. They all feature a manual soft top but the top two options will have a power-retractable hardtop or PRHT.
In Sport trim, the car can handle 16-inch wheels, a vinyl top that has a glass window, an air-conditioning system, premium cloth seats, a six-speaker stereo system with a CD/MP3 player and even features its own an auxiliary audio jack, an adjustable driver seat, a special leather steering wheel and also some power windows and mirrors.
The Touring model of the Mazda MX-5 Miata Sports Coupe features 17-inch wheels, an additional shock tower brace used on the front suspension, bright foglights, a cruise control system, power door locks, a keyless entry device, a mirror that can dim for rear views, a customizable trip computer, a six disc changer with audio controls at the wheel and a leather shift knob. The Grand Touring edition adds either a black or beige top, a climate control system that adapts to an area, leather seats that can also be heated, a seven-speaker audio system from Bose and silver interior accents. The PRHT versions have similar features.
Most of the additional come in their own packages. The Sport models can use a Convenience package that has many Touring upgrades (which are already standard in Miata Sport models with an automatic transmission). The Touring and the Grand Touring models work with the Miata's handling with a strong Suspension package that uses quality Bilstein shocks and a strong limited-slip differential for a manual transmission. The Grand Touring model can use the Premium package that features a keyless ignition and a keyless entry system, bright xenon headlights, support for Bluetooth signals and even signals for satellite radio. An Appearance optional will add a great looking front spoiler along with additional rocker sills.
The interior of the Mazda MX-5 Miata Sports Coupe is very tight. Although it is small, this feels personal. The Miata's is appealing in that there is enough space for daily use while there is enough space to store items for a holiday for the weekend but still keeps you on the road well enough. It uses plenty of fuel but it could be more eco-sensitive than other vehicles like this; you will feel everything around you. The appointments work well but they are not as vital.
The trunk's 5.3-cubic-foot capacity is relatively small and is enough to get a couple traveling light for a weekend, and it can handle a good amount of groceries. Mazda says that the floor is deep to handle some 1.5-liter beverage bottles. There is no spare tire, a move used to save weight.
The exterior is classic Miata. While its proportions as the same as it has been for a while, it does have a few changes. For example, it has short overhangs and a wide track to create a very strong look. The build is strong without anything too outlandish or extreme. The more traditional design is better but the power hardtop works very well.
In general, Mazda has succeeded in the design. The third-generation edition of the Miata has a feel similar to what the first1990 model has as well as the second version from 1999 to 2005. However, the current MX-5 is larger in many spots than previous versions, from what's under the hood to the inside to its physical body.
The Mazda MX-5 Miata is a great car that offers one of the best things ever: A well-engineered feel that starts well every single time and could run forever, with amazing quality and reliability. Its optional retractable top makes it look more appealing. The Miata is a great vehicle that is found to compare things to.
