Technologically speaking the Mercedes-Benz CL600 luxury coupe pretty much has it all as standard. On the central console there is the mouse control of the COMAND function. The COMAND controller basically runs all of the major technological features of the CL 600 with a small screen to tell you which function you are using. It controls the 2 zone climate control which allows the car to be segmented into different areas so that each passenger can have settings to suit their tastes within limits. On the Mercedes-Benz CL600 luxury coupe the COMAND control method is convoluted with dozens of different layers of settings which can take a long time to set up, and even longer to understand. A criticism is that it can be very distracting and complicated while driving despite the effort that the Mercedes-Benz engineers have gone to in order to offset this by putting some of the controls on the steering wheel.
The Mercedes CL600 luxury coupe is not the most fuel efficient car on the road with it only managing to achieve 13 miles per gallon for city driving and 18 miles per gallon on the highway. With only a 23.8 gallon tank, the CL600 is going to need to stop frequently to fill up with gas. The video section of the dashboard display will keep you fully informed of the time and distance remaining until you need to refill. At night, this dashboard video display transforms into a night vision assistance which uses thermal imaging to assist the driver with identifying what's ahead including clearly highlighting pedestrians. When you are driving on highways and darkened roads, this feature assists with highlighting the lanes and edges on a semi black and white display. Couple this with the Distronic cruise control that tracks the cars ahead up to 125mph and night highway driving becomes almost automated which fortunately the Mercedes-Benz engineers have thought of by adding alarms and self correction alerts for any lane drifting by sleepy drivers.
