The Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class CLS 550 Coupe is a trim in the CLS-Class lineup. It is considered the base trim upon which others are improved. There are a host of features that come with the CLS 550 as one would expect from a Mercedes. The biggest difference between the trims is going to be the engine available and the power offered by each.

The standard fare on the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class CLS 550 Coupe begins with a set of 18 inch wheels. Added to them is adaptive air suspension, bi-xenon headlamps and LED running lamps. There is also a rearview and driver-side mirror that dims automatically, a sunroof, climate control and powered front seats with memory and adjustment potential. The steering wheel inside this vehicle offers tilting and telescoping while the entire cabin is donned in leather. Buyers can expect a navigation system, traffic, voice controls and Bluetooth. The Harman Kardon sound system offers a six CD changer, satellite and HD radio, digital storage and fourteen speakers.

A split folding seat in the rear is optional as is the Premium 1 Package. With this package buyers will be able to get adaptive LED headlamps, high beams that turn on automatically, a camera with a rearview and a powered trunk. Keyless entry and keyless ignition are available with this package as well. Even the seats will benefit when they get heat and ventilation. The package also offers a sunshade in the rear and an iPod interface. Of course those are not the only options afforded to the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class CLS 550 Coupe. Other packages add more features as well.

Additional safety features for the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class CLS 550 Coupe can be had with the Lane Tracking package. It offers a warning system for the blind spot and lane departure. There is a Driver Assistance Package that adds in adaptive cruise and enhanced Lane Tracking options. There is a Parktronic package that incorporates sensors on the front and back for parking and an automated system for parking. Buyers can also purchase such benefits as an infrared display for night time viewing, heated seats, heated steering wheel and massaging in the front seats.

Between the standard safety features and those that are optional no one has to worry about the worst taking place. There are antilock brakes, stability control, front knee airbags, traction control, side airbags and curtain airbags. There is also the mbrace telematics for emergencies, Attention Assist, and PreSafe. Those who want more can opt for rear airbags, the infrared sensors and parking sensors with a rearview. Warnings for blind spots and lane departures are available in a package.
