The Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid luxury sedan has some excellent safety features including Attention Assist which monitors your driving and triggers a warning if it thinks you are sleeping at the wheel or getting sleepy. If the warning is not heeded instantly the S400 Hybrid will activate Active Lane Keeping Assist and actually auto correct the vehicle if it starts to move out of its' lane. In addition to this the Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid has what's called Active Blind Spot Assist which is able to detect vehicles in places where the system knows the driver cannot easily see, which activates if you try to change lane when there is a car in one of these locations. If no action is taken the car will take over and maintain position in the current lane itself. The Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid's car override features don't stop there, the cruise control function also monitors the traffic around the vehicle and once set, the vehicle will travel at the set speed until it comes within a safe following distance of the car in front in which it will adjust to the speed of the car in front including accelerating again. In an emergency, the cruise control can actually bring the car to a safe stop from its maximum cruise control speed of 125mph.
For parking, the Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid is no slouch either. It has Parking Guidance which differs to many of the auto park features available from other manufacturers in that it is able to scan parking areas to find suitable spots provided the car is not travelling too quickly and will show a 'P' on the dashboard display. When you put the car in reverse the Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid will put up a display on the dashboard showing the vehicle relative to all other vehicles around it to help you back into the spot without necessarily having to strain your neck constantly.
