The 2012 S-Class S550 sedan is one of the most popular vehicles produced by German automotive company Mercedes-Benz. It's a luxury sedan that offers above-average handling and performance while providing the utmost comfort and style that Mercedes-Benz cars are known for. The 2012 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S550 is one of the top "expensive" sedans on the market today. With a price tag of about $94,500 for its base models, this ride is quite lavish but truly comfortable. It comes with a long list of standard features than can be upgraded with more packages to suit your driving needs.

The Mercedes-Benz S-class S550 sedan is regarded as a superior car, trampling over competition like the Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series. All reviews of the Audi A8 and BMW 7 series mention that their interiors are unable to match the standard set by the Mercedes-Benz S-class S550 sedan. When it comes to performance and handling, the Audi A8 surpasses the S-class S550 but not really by much. In terms of reliability the S550 has the edge over the Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series based on reviews and driving tests. The 2012 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S550 does not do well in terms of fuel economy however. It only runs about 15 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway according to reviews. The Audi A8 runs an impressive 18 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway. The BWM 7 Series runs at 17 miles per gallon in city driving and about 25 miles per gallon on the highway.

In terms of pricing, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S550 seems to be on the losing side. The Audi A8 with about the same specifications as the S550 only costs $78,750, a price difference of almost $13,000. The BMW 7 Series is priced at about $75,500, almost $20,000 less than the Mercedes-Benz S550. If you take into account additions that you might put in the 2012 Mercedes-Benz S550, you could potentially go way over the $100,000 mark, although the same could easily be said about the Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series. Even though that might be a huge difference in price, we still feel after we have considered everything in our reviews that the 2012 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S550 is a far superior car and considered value for the money. It is mainly up to you if you choose the best the luxury sedan market has to offer, or if the price tag is a bit too hefty.
