Part 2: Trims & Features

The 2010 Mercury Mountaineer comes in two trim levels, the base package and the Premier package. Both trim levels are available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The 2010 Mountaineer base package includes full power accessories, cruise control, 17-inch wheels, steering wheel with audio controls that is all wrapped in leather and a six-way power driver seat. There is of course an option for upgrade to this base trim level for a 5-passenger Value package that would include driver memory functions, dual-zone automatic climate controls, power adjustable pedals, reverse parking sensors, leather upholstery, heated front-row seats and Sync communication and entertainment systems with voice-activation. The 2010 Mercury Mountaineer Premier package comes with standard features like aluminum roof railings, sunroof, 18-inch chrome wheels, dual-zone auto climate control, real manual climate control, leather upholstery, driver memory function, Sync communication and entertainment systems and heated front-row seats. You can also add more luxuriant features to the premier package to include tow package, power folding third row seats, rear-seat entertainment system, voice-activated navigation system, internal hard drive that has 10GB of music storage and integrated real-time traffic system and 20-inch wheels. Both versions of the 2010 Mercury Mountaineer gave an impression of being a quiet ride on various reviews. The SUV has good sound insulation in place that makes it more comfortable for the driver and passengers of this car.

Being an SUV, the 2010 Mercury Mountaineer packs some serious security specifications. Airbags in the first and second row side curtains are in place. It also includes anti-lock disc brakes with stability control and rollover sensor. Reviews and crash tests by the federal government on the Mountaineer gave it a perfect score on both front impact and side impact crashes. The review by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety also gave it the best mark on front impact test but a downgrade to "acceptable" on the side impact test.
