The current Nissan Sentra Sedan comes in five trims known as the Base, S, SR, SL and SE-R. With the base trim coming in at a little over $16,000 it is often considered to be a pricier car in this class. The Base model comes with a 2.0 Liter 140 hp 5 cylinder engine. It has very basic features including power windows and locks and air conditioning. Like the other trims, it comes with a six speed manual transmission but has an optional continuously variable transmission.

The S trim of the Nissan Sentra Sedan has the same engine as the base and the same transmission. It adds a keyless entry and ignition system, leather wrapped steering wheel, an iPod interface and Bluetooth capabilities. The SR builds a little further on the same basic vehicle by adding a body kit and wheels that are inspired by the pricier SE-R. The SL has the same basic features and style as the S trim with the same engine and transmission.

The SE-R trim on the Nissan Sentra Sedan offers a little more in terms of features and engine power. With a 2.5 liter 177 hp 4 cylinder engine, it can outperform the other trims but not by much. The biggest difference with this trim is the performance tuned suspension, performance tire package and larger brakes that are offered in addition to the same features from other trims.
