The Porsche 911 line, which began with one model in 1964, is still alive and thriving. This year, there are over twenty Porsche 911 variations, including over a dozen Porsche 911 Carrera variants, two Targa models, and several Turbo models. There are also several unique and special edition versions of the Porsche 911. One of these is the 2012 Porsche 911 Speedster coupe, which Porsche links with the idea of "dreams." And, for good reason too, the speedy luxury coupe, which celebrates 25 years of excellence this year, is certainly the car of many enthusiasts' dreams. With its distinct style, iconic history, the Porsche 911 Speedster is certainly a car worth drooling over.

The Porsche 911 Speedster had gone into production twice before last year's 2011 model (on which the 2012 model relies heavily), in 1988 and in 1993. The 2011, third-generation model was released at the Paris Auto Show and was produced in only 356 units, with most units sent to the United States. This number brings attention to the original Porsche 356 Speedster which was sold in 1953. Now the 2012 25th anniversary-edition of the Porsche Exclusive model is available, and it's stealing the attention of Porsche enthusiasts everywhere.

The 2012 Porsche 911 Speedster coupe is available in two colors: Carrera White and Pure Blue. The Pure Blue color is the more distinct of the two, with accents of high gloss Black to emphasize the Speedster's stylish design. The vibrant hue joins several other historically-bright Speedster colors, including Speed Yellow and Guards Red. The sporty coupe has a starting price of $245,900, but it's highly customizable, as it's a Porsche Excusive. This means you can get the highest level of personalization straight from the Porsche factory (but also that the base price can easily increase). If you can think of it, Porsche can build it, as there is a virtually unlimited range of options.

The Speedster also includes Porsche Tequipment which means there's also a huge range of specially-designed accessories available to retrofit your Porsche. All these accessories are tested and fine-tuned by Tequipment. After review, however, we can tell you that the Speedster's standard features are already impressive. The Speedster combines some of the best elements of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, and the Porsche 911 Turbo, creating a perfect mix of style and power.
