Pros The 2012 Porsche Boxster S luxury coupe features attractive styling, inside and out. With a style inspired by the Porsche Carrera GT, this coupe is one of the most attractive we've seen.

Pros In our reviews, the Porsche Boxster has an outstanding amount of power, especially in its "S" variant. It features a powerful mid-engine that produces 315 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, and it reaches 0-60 mph in less than five seconds. The S also has amazing top speed of 173 mph. It features a six-speed manual transmission with self-adjusting clutch and dual-mass flywheel.

Pros The Boxster S coupe's electric convertible top is extremely user-friendly and stores compactly. It looks great as both a coupe and a convertible. There's no need for a bothersome cover.

Pros With a starting MSRP around $70-thousand, the Porsche Boxster S Roadster competes well with other sports cars, as it is generally priced lower.

Pros The Boxster gracefully rides the fine line of being both appealing to one's heart and one's head. Its price, features, and style are all outstanding, yet it's still the dream car for which you're been searching.

Pros Standard accessories are plentiful, as are optional features and packages.

Cons The 2012 Porsche Boxster S Roadster, like most sports cars, has tested as having poor fuel economy ratings.

Cons There is very little extra space in the Porsche, in both the cabin and cargo areas of this coupe. The mid-engine design of the Boxster S places the engine behind the driver and passenger, so there is no backseat of which to speak, and the little room available is taken up by the Bose audio system.

Cons The Porsche Boxster S isn't full of high-tech safety features by any stretch of the imagination. Features standard or optional on other luxury vehicles, like rearview cameras, lane-departure warning systems, or adaptive cruise control are absent on this vehicle. ParkAssist is available, however.

Cons Wind and road noise can get distracting, especially at high speeds. However, there is a wind deflector available for the times the convertible top is down.
