The Porsche Cayman is available in several variants this year: the base coupe, the S trim, the speedy R trim, and the special edition Cayman S Black Edition. The Black Edition has a starting $67,500, which is somewhat higher than other competitors in its segment (especially with added options and packages) - such as the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the BMW 1 Series M, and the Audi TT RS. As luxury cars go, though, after review, it’s certainly at the top of our list. The Black Edition comes with all of the standard features seen in the Porsche Cayman S- such as a 3.4-liter flat 6-cylinder engine (also available in the Cayman R), red-painted brake calipers, six-way adjustable seats, summer high-performance tires, air-conditioning, cruise control, and USB and iPod connectivity. It also adds several unique features to this lineup, including an additional ten horsepower, a sport edition steering wheel (as seen in the Porsche 911 Turbo) , Porsche Communications Management package (which includes a Bose audio system and standard satellite radio), Bluetooth connectivity, black twin exhaust pipes, and special Black Edition Porsche badges on the doors and headrests.
Optional features and packages are readily available for just about any addition or customization drivers desire, but they can get pricey. These aren’t as necessary with the S Black Edition coupe as they are with the other Cayman models, however. This special edition can save you thousands when compared to a similarly equipped standard Cayman. If you’re searching for value though, it’s best to just stick with the base Cayman and Cayman S models. Unless a small power boost and unique black aesthetics are important to you, you should find plenty of beauty and clout in these less pricey models. That being said, however, with only 500 units available, the Porsche Cayman S Black Edition is sure to turn a few heads in your neighborhood.
