There are no gauges located in front of the driver in the Scion xB sedan.. There are four indicators that are located on the right side of the driver. These are all easy to see and read. The information display on the left will show things like fuel mileage and projected fuel range. The clock on the car is orange and uses an eave to keep it visible. The digital speedometer can work with big numbers that are easy to read. Beyond these are the gas and temperature gauges. Scion has put a great deal of control in developing the air conditioning system. Four round vents around the dashboard quietly prepare cold air.
The driver will find good response times from the Scion xB sedan, with smooth acceleration and quick shifts from the transmission. But don't mistake the xB for a sports car. It handles like the boxy body that it is, but that doesn't mean it drives poorly. Just don't expect a zippy take off or quick handling around turns. The engine gives the xB more than enough power to get it where it needs to be, and to have fun doing it. But it's not a sports car, by any means.
But don't expect to take the Scion xB sedan anywhere that is hard to drive in. Its boxy shape and sketchy suspension makes for too rough a ride for anything but the smoothest roads. While it might seem fun to play on back roads, the xB isn't the car to do it in. Also watch out for heavy bump at higher speed on the highway, as the xB doesn't handle them well and can cause quite a shock to the driver when it jumps so hard.
