Porsche Sedan Reviews

For generations those who have known Porsche have understood that the appeal was in the sports cars. Whether the buyer was into rallies and racing or simply wanting a thrill ride of their own, it was the two-door sports cars that everyone was after. That is why when there was talk of a Porsche Sedan, people were unhappy. They did not want a company that had built its success and reputation on the two door rear engine sports car to cave and go into a market where it did not need to be. However, the company did not listen and thus the Porsche Panamera was born.

Unveiled at the 13th Auto Shanghai International Automobile Show in 2009, the Panamera was everything that Porsche was not. It featured four doors, a front engine placement, rear wheel or four wheel drive options and looked more like a family vehicle than a high performance one. Die-hard fans were not happy about the Porsche Sedan and felt the company was abandoning its roots. However, that was quickly proven inaccurate as the appeal of this new sedan began to take hold. Soon, it would be seen that it was far more than a simple four door family vehicle.

True to Porsche format, the Panamera is a high performance vehicle. This Porsche Sedan brings far more excitement to a daily drive than the average sedan. Whether opting for the standard or turbo S model, the engine will push the limits of performance and give an experience that is second to none in a sedan. Drivers can choose which mode they prefer so that they get as sporty of a ride as they would like. The V8 engine gives a stellar performance that is comparable to every sports car on the market.

The inside of this Porsche Sedan stays loyal to the brand as well. Luxury abounds inside the cabin with many of the styles coming directly from the 911. Seats offer just the right amount of support and comfort, materials are of the best quality and there is plenty of space for four full sized adults. Even the amount of cargo room is larger than the typical sedan. The dash features an assortment of knobs and buttons, but they are situated well and easy to learn for beginners. The Panamera is a full sized luxury car that can easily rival the sports cars in the Porsche line.

When it comes to functioning, performance and even fuel mileage in a sedan; there is no model that will top this Porsche Sedan. In 2011 a Hybrid and a Diesel option were offered in addition to the standard model. Naysayers are quickly seeing that having a sedan does not detract from what Porsche has always been about. Instead, with the Panamera, it shows that the company can place their own standards onto any style of car and make it just as good and just as successful as their traditional sports car.
