Spyker Cars has a very unique history. The original owners of Spyker were Hendrik and Jacobus-Jan Spijker. They founded the Dutch car manufacturing company in 1880. It would go on to produce a number of things ranging from the Golden Carriage which the Dutch Queen still uses to aircraft and aircraft engines. Throughout those years, Spyker would also create many different automobiles. The Spyker sedan was well known and highly regarded, as were the other models of vehicle. However, the company didn't stay in the hands of the Spijkers and would see a chain of events that ceased productions permanently.
The name of the company would not be used again until 1999 when another Dutch car manufacturer purchased the rights to use it. Unlike the previous company, this Spyker cars did not focus on a variety of cars. There would be no Spyker sedan. Instead, there would only be sports cars and they would not be just any sports car. Spyker would focus their energy on producing a number of supercars. They achieved this status through the combination of luxury, design and performance. Though the name was the same, and some of the cars would show the roots in the aircraft manufacturing industry, that is where the similarities would end.
Since the re-creation of Spyker cars in 1999, there have been a number of models to come from the company. The current and most popular is the C8. With a variety of versions including the C8 Laviolette Coupe, the C8 Aileron Coupe and the C8 Spyder convertible; people have come to know this model and its many attributes. What it does not include among its line of coupes and convertibles is a Spyker sedan. While some may consider the coupe to be sedan-like, it does not hold the same features as a traditional sedan.
Spyker Cars has focused from day one on the sports car concept. They have featured a number of two door models that range from hard top to soft top. Each has an extensive list of benefits and features. Each is complete with luxurious cabins that boast such things as leather and brushed aluminum. Each offers a precise steering, raw power and road gripping handling that is unsurpassed. However, none of them are a sedan. In fact, they are quite far removed from being a Spyker sedan.
It is doubtful that Spyker will release a Spyker sedan in the traditional sense. Fans have come to expect the best in sports cars from the companies. Most of those who look to buy a Spyker car are not looking for a four door family vehicle. They want something that will give them the thrill they have been searching for when out on the road. Spyker Cars can do just that. They can offer a fast and exciting ride whether it is a daily commute or a day on the backroads. They offer a comfortable ride as well. They simply do not offer a sedan.
