Subaru Sedan Reviews

When it comes to Japanese transportation, there is little that is more well known than Subaru. This division of Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) focuses on the production of automobiles. Subaru has become most well known for their use of boxer engines and the ability to have an all wheel drive version, even in the Subaru sedan. All wheel drive has been standard on their vehicles since 1996. The first vehicle to be mass produced by Subaru was the Subaru 360 which was a microcar that would become one of Japan's most popular models. It was released in 1958 and developed a huge worldwide following.

The first Subaru sedan to be built was the 1500. Only 20 were built in 1954 when it was designed, but it is still considered to be the first Subaru sedan. It would never gain the following that its successor gained and the popularity of Subaru would rise with each new release offered on the market. Today, there are two sedans that are still manufactured by the company and each of them has been around for quite some time. One is the Subaru Impreza and the other is the Subaru Legacy.

The Subaru Impreza is a compact car that is one of the most successful Subaru sedan models made. It was originally released in 1993 and used the same engine that the Legacy had used. It features the boxer engine that Subaru has been known for and it has always had an all wheel drive option available. Currently in its 4th generation, the sedan has been increased in size over the years while the weight has consistently been lowered. The latest generation is said to have much more space and better fuel economy at the same time. It also had several technical improvements before the generation was released in 2011.

The Subaru Legacy is a mid-size Subaru sedan that has been in production since 1989. It was designed for the sole purpose of allowing Subaru to finally compete in the mid-size market. The original generation was released in 1989 and was a completely different design than most Subaru vehicles. They wanted to keep up with the competitors and the Legacy was the way they intended to do that. The Legacy is in its fifth generation with the final one having been released in 2009. The company continues to improve upon its design in the hopes that it will appeal over the competition.

The Subaru sedan has been a vital component of the company since its beginning. From the very first vehicle to the ones that exist on the market today, there have always been sedan models to select from. Subaru is one of the first manufacturers to offer all wheel drive standard on its sedan models and that has made them a popular choice over the years. However, like most car manufacturers, Subaru must now come out with new and exciting changes to keep a foothold in a market saturated with options.
