Subaru Forester 2.5X Crossover SUV Pros and Cons

Pros The Forester's AWD drive is among the best available and certainly among the SUV class. Ideal in snowy climates, or any form of slippery conditions as well as for uphill climbs.

Pros The Forester is reckoned to offer the best value for money in its class, with its nearest rivals from either Toyota or Honda considerably more expensive to buy, without apparently offering much more in terms of features, category to category according to reviews.

Pros The Forester is a big car with a small car feel as far as handling and fuel economy are concerned. An ideal vehicle for a medium to large sized family, with loads of seating space and leg room as well as height room.

Pros The Forester is able to carry a load of luggage and equipment without too much strain on the engine or suspension.

Cons The Forester's transmission has been described as uninspiring by many drivers as it has only four speeds to choose from. Reports are that the lack of gear options makes for some erratic RPMs and uneven petrol consumption, especially in city driving.

Cons While Subaru advertise fuel consumption in the city at twenty one miles per gallon, many drivers report it as being closer to eighteen.

Cons In even minor windy conditions, drivers have reported that the Forester can be difficult to handle, due to its height and relatively narrow displacement.

Cons The Forester could never be described as quiet, and on certain surfaces, its noisy engine can be annoyingly obtrusive.
