The Subaru Impreza is a compact sedan that was first introduced by Fuji Heavy Industries in 1993 after the popular Loyale (Leon) was cancelled due to its aging EA series engine. The Impreza was introduced with the popular EJ series engine- a staple in the larger Subaru Legacy. The Impreza has always offered AWD and is the only vehicle in its class that can make that claim. The Subaru Impreza made this feature standard in all trims from its inception in 1993.The For about eight years, the Subaru Impreza remained very similar externally-until 2000 when Subaru decided to update the Impreza for the 21st century. This change was met with mixed views, and some critics and drivers really hated the new designs due to their "bug-eyed" headlights, aptly named by critics. Many of these new Subaru Impreza vehicles promptly had their headlights replaced with WRC HI-Definition (HiD) lamps or aggressive Morette cluster lights. Subaru is a subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries, which was originally named Nakajima Aircraft back in 1917. Nakajima didn't build an automobile until 1954 when it was labeled Fuji Heavy Industries. The name of this car was the P-1 which stood for Prototype-1. This name was later changed to the Subaru 1500, and the Subaru was born. The name Subaru references the star cluster Pleiades, which is the same famous star cluster that makes up the famous Subaru logo today. Since 1972, Subaru has made a very distinct brand for itself with the introduction of its standard AWD and continues to do so.

The 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i 4-Door Sedan is the basis for the new 2012 Impreza model, which comes with a choice of 4 or 5 doors and many additional trim choices, including: the 2.0i Premium, the 2.0i Traditional, the 2.0i Sport Premium, and the 2.0i Sport Limited. This base model Impreza achieves 36 mpg on the highway and 27 mpg in the city- excellent fuel economy ratings for such a family-friendly vehicle. This base model gets 36 mpg on the highway and 27 mpg in the city- an excellent fuel economy rating for a family- friendly automobile. The 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i 5-Door Sedan has a starting MSRP of $17,995. While we've never really loved the Subaru's traditional styling (apparent in this model as well) because of its bodywork, we can say that this year's Impreza is slightly more impressive, albeit somewhat awkward. The 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i 5-Door Sedan also impresses us with its numerous standard safety features. (It was also named a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS). In short, the 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i 5-Door Sedan is a great choice for individuals and families looking for adventure and all-weather capability.
