The Subaru Impreza WRX 5-Door Sedan averages 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, which is moderately impressive for a family car of its size. It comes equipped with a 2.5L H4 engine, a 5 Speed Manual transmission, and 265 horsepower capability. Its AWD driveline assures drivers will never be stuck in a tight spot, and its five person capacity speaks volumes of its family-friendly attitude. Some impressive standard features for the WRX 5-Door include: an anti-theft mechanism via alarm and engine immobilizer, valet lockout, and power doors and locks operated by key, door, and internal switch- all of which are sure to keep your family safe. Additional features to help you feel at ease include: side head curtain airbags, a passenger airbag cutoff sensor, front and rear 3-point seatbelts, side guard door beams, and driver and passenger airbags with dual stage deployment. The cabin's technological features are striking as well, including: an AM/FM stereo w/CD player with MP3/WMA capability, six speakers, a 3.5mm aux input jack, a USB port, Bluetooth audio streaming and hands-free phone connectivity, and iPod control capability. An average fuel economy indicator allows the driver to stay conscious of his/her fuel efficiency, while an abundance of cargo space gives families plenty of space to store their things long road trips. The 5-door sedan is also pre-wired for XM and SIRIUS satellite radio systems. Outside, the Subaru boasts 17" alloy wheels, a hood scoop, front and rear under spoilers, a WRX front fender side scoop, a rocker spoiler, auto-off headlights, a rear window wiper w/washer, body- colored door handles, and a quirky roof antenna.

The Subaru Impreza WRX is also available in WRX Premium, WRX Limited, WRX STI, and WRX STI Limited trims. The most luxurious trim, the WRX STI Limited, starts at $37,445 and is a true warrior on the road when it comes to power. STI trims get 305 bhp and a 6-speed manual, adjustable center differential, a stiff suspension setup, and a bigger tire package. The traditional Subaru Impreza WRX is impressive as well, however, and available colors for the WRX include Obsidian Black Pearl, Dark Gray Metallic, Ice Silver Metallic, Satin White Pearl, Lightning Red Pearl, Plasma Blue Pearl, and WR Blue Mica- our personal favorite. A host of add-ons ensures all drivers have the accessories they desire at their fingertips.

Overall, in review, we find the Impreza WRX to be family-friendly, reliable, and stylish. It offers enough safety features to keep us happy, and actually received the highest-possible rating of "Good" in the frontal-offset, side-impact and roof strength tests from the IIHS. The pricing isn't bad for what you're getting from the vehicle, and the technological features and aesthetic appearance seem more than adequate to suit our tastes.

While the Subaru WRX is a joy to drive, it can be frustrating to operate in general. So, is impressive performance at an affordable price your goal, or is easy navigation on the top of your list? You'll have to decide that for yourself. While it may not be the most impressive vehicle you'll ever drive, it certainly won't be the worst either. Overall, the Subaru Impreza WRX 5-Door Sedan keeps us happy in all of the important ways (and it's quick too!).
