Overall

I just bought a new 2012 Outback premium model w/ heated seats, mirrors, alloy wheels, Bluetooth. The CVT transmission is suppose to accomplish 2 things: better fuel economy & not shifting gears. If you test-drive one, you'll see what I mean. I've only had it a week, so I can't comment on MPG, but the CVT is smooth. Plenty of leg & headroom as I'm 6'6". That was a deal-breaker for me when I was test-driving cars. The car sits a little higher than say a Camry or a Taurus and has plenty of storage as the rear seats fold down. They also recline too, which is a nice feature. I researched a ton and it came down to the Outback & the Volkswagen Passat, which is surprisingly roomy as well. I live in Northeast Ohio, so the weather can get ugly & because the Outback (all Subies have it) has AWD, it was a no-brainer. If your on the fence with the Outback, try the Forester as well...good luck!
