We have a 2011 RAV4 that was purchased brand new in May. We were recently rear-ended in a low speed accident and the entire back window shattered throwing small shards of glass forward onto our backseat passengers. Luckily no one was badly injured only slight cuts; but I would be very cautious about considering this vehicle if you have small children or babies who need to be in a rear facing car seat.
