Whether you've always had a burning desire to own a European vehicle, or have simply been searching for a reliable sedan, the Volkswagen Passat Sedan review makes sense in both cases. With the 2012 model of the Passat you can have the best of both worlds. You get to experience all the elegant styling, and sports-like driving characteristics of a German car, yet can acknowledge the fact that it was assembled within the United States.

The new Volkswagen Passat Sedan was created to appeal to the tastes of Americans with the new selection of engines available, larger interior spacing, and a reduced overall price tag upon review. Entering into an already full family sedan category, the 2012 Volkswagen Passat Sedan actually makes more sense when placed here. A majority of car buyers will be happy to see a high quality automobile at a price they can afford. It is also capable of holding at least five passengers at a time comfortably, an appealing thought to many families.

One area where the Volkswagen Passat Sedan review noticeably lacks is in the base engine department. The 2.5-liter 5-cylinder, which is commonly found in the Jetta, lacks power and gusto according to buyer reviews. The response is ultimately dull, and you'll find yourself wishing for more power behind the wheel. With that said, there are three different engine types, including the turbo diesel and 3.6-liter, which offers the option of increasing total power output if desired.

As we move to the inside review of the Volkswagen Passat Sedan you'll notice an increase in total cabin space. You won't feel cramped, and the back of the Passat has grown out three inches in length. This provides added legroom, and adults placed in the backseat will appreciate this fact. Considering the increase in total size, the Passat is dangerously close to being classified as a full size sedan with it's larger interior size. The trunk review doesn't disappoint either with a large 15.9 cubic feet. Few other competing sedans can offer this much room. You'll also be happy with the 60/40 split-folding seats in the back for easy access into the trunk, or when carrying large loads.

As far as our quality review goes, the Passat doesn't disappoint in the 2012 year. The material quality reviews remain high as usual, and an upscale feel is present throughout the interior. The gauges are laid out in a simply way that will be refreshing for many while driving. The audio has also been improved, finally, with the Fender audio system. A very nice upgrade from the past that comes standard on all trims. When driving along, you'll notice it's very quiet, even on the highway. This isn't as common on other sedan models out there.

Overall, the Volkswagen Passat Sedan is a reliable choice that works for families, and people in search of a high quality vehicle at a discount. With the wide variety of both engines and trims available to choose from, you'll have no problem finding the right one for you. With an increased size found throughout the interior, the comfort and upscale luxury of German vehicles in the past can be found in the 2012 Volkswagen Passat Sedan.
