With the C30 coupe Volvo have continued their policy of spoiling their customers with as high a quality of cabin finish as can be achieved within a realistic budget. Anyone who has ever taken a close look at the interior trim of the S40 saloon or the V50 station wagon will see the similarities, as Volvo have adapted their T5 trim to suit the C30 which is characterized by their now trademark, distinctively designed floating centre stack brushed aluminum instrument panel.

The standard T5 trimmed C30 comes with tilting steering wheel that also telescopes. height adjustable driver and passenger seats, trip computer, cruise control, CD audio hooked up to an eight speaker system, auxiliary audio jack and seventeen inch alloy wheels with 205/50R17 93V all weather tires.

Volvo have obviously given a lot of thought on how to present the many options that they have on offer with the Volvo 30 and indeed all of the cars in their range, preferring to split them into packages for ease of ordering. For the C30 there are three packages available- the Climate, Premier Plus or Platinum. Each of these packages contains a wide range of upgrades that will push the C30 up another level in terms of luxury and practicability. Those whose budget does not stretch to factory fitted upgrades will find that the standard package will still provide levels of comfort and finish that few of their rivals can aspire to.

As has become their trademark , safety features abound on the Volvo C30 starting from front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and whiplash reducing front seats, stability control with Volvo's Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) being an optional extra.

Fuel consumption for the Volvo C30 2.5 liter inline five cylinder turbo-charged engine, according to the US EPA. averages at 24 miles per gallon, with 21 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the open road for the manual transmission version, while the automatic transmissioned version will burn up an average of 24 miles per gallon with 21 miles per gallon in the city and 30 miles per gallon on the highway being reported in most reviews.

The Volvo C30 starts on a level playing field in the up market compact hatchback sector with its closest rivals being the Subaru Impreza WRX, Mazda Speed Three, Ford Focus and even the Mini Cooper.
